Chandigarh/Ludhiana, October 17, 2013: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today felicitated the people of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of Pargat Divas of 'Karuma Sagar' Bhagwan Valmik and exhorted them to follow his teachings and ideology to carve out an ideal society regardless of caste, colour and creed.
In his message, Badal said that Bhagwan Valmeki, the creator of first ever the great epic-'Ramayana' in Sanskrit was a great exponent of Indian culture & civilization. His masterpiece creation, 'Ramayana' is a great source of human values, culture and ethics for the entire. Bhagwan Valmeki ji propagated the message of love and ideal life based on morality to the society, said Badal.
Badal called upon the people to celebrate this sacred occasion collectively   rising above the parochial considerations of caste, colour and creed to strengthen our brotherhood and amity.
Chandigarh: Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister today felicitated the people on the eve of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti.
In a greeting message, Badal said that Maharishi Valmiki’s Ramayana had been a great source of inspiration even today. He said that Bhagwan Valmiki was the first writer to use Sanskrit for magnum opus. Mr. Badal said that Maharishi Valmiki was a great spiritual ambassador, who gave the message of social equality, emancipation, communal harmony and welfare of downtrodden and oppressed groups. He said that we all should follow the teachings of Maharishi Valmiki for maintaining communal harmony besides for the welfare of oppressed sections.
The Deputy CM said that Maharishi Valmiki shown us the path of social integrity and accord and we all should follow his teachings. He said that Maharishi Valmiki was a great and revolutionary messiah of downtrodden, and his unmatchable contribution for the welfare of deprived sections of the society would always be a remembered.

Ludhiana: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari today greeted people on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. He said, it is an occasion of immense joy to mark the Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti celebrations without which our culture will be incomplete.
In his message to the people, Tewari said, Maharishi Valmiki’s contribution lies at the foundation of the Indian culture. He pointed out, the great epic Ramayana, penned down by Maharishi Valmiki has not only benefitted the Indians but the whole world for hundreds and thousands of years.
