PUNJAB decides to establish inter-state computerised check posts

Chandigarh, July 9, 2013: The Punjab Government has decided to establish inter-state computerised check posts at the entry points of borders of neighbouring states.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of Transport department said that these check posts were being set up on out sources basis. He said that main purpose to set up these computerised check posts was to curb the illegal operation of transport vehicles entering in the state.

He further said that computerised check posts would ensure transparency in the entire system of tax collection and it would be helpful to check the theft of taxes.
