A deputation of UCPMA, Ludhiana gives memorandum to Punjab Finance Minister, Parminder Singh Dhindsa during his visit at Ludhiana on Thursday.

Ludhiana, March 15, 2013: Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa, alongwith Karan Avtar Singh, Principal Secretary, Punjab Department of Labour, Industries and Commerce had been to Ludhiana on Thursday and had a meeting with the industrialist at Hero Cycles Ltd to have the knowledge about the difficulties being faced by the cycle industries.

Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) handed a memorandum to Dhindsa in which problems like VAT refund, SAC approval, Mix Land Use Areas, zoning violation and minimum wages were enumerated in detail. 

Dhindsa was very kind enough to give patient hearing to the UCPMA demands especially regarding VAT refund which is lying pending with the Excise and Taxation Department for long.

He was also requested that VAT on cycle costing less than Rs. 3,500 should be abolished as there is no such VAT on bicycle costing less than Rs. 3,500 in Delhi. 

Kular pointed out that the cycle industry which is ignored totally in the Union Budget for next fiscal for giving any type relief.

He further requested to Dhindsa that a special package for the cycle industry be given in Punjab State Budget which is going to be presented shortly for which the cycle industry will be grateful to the state government.
