Punjab Government is working towards all-around development of children: Dr Baljit Kaur

Chandigarh, September 14, 2023: The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is ensuring the implementation of various schemes related to the welfare of children while being committed to the all-round development of children," stated Dr Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Security, Women, and Child Development in Punjab.
Dr. Baljit Kaur shared this information, emphasizing that the Punjab government is taking significant steps to ensure the well-being of the state's children. These efforts aim to create new plans and schemes to protect children's rights and ensure that every child is get these benefits.
Cabinet Minister mentioned that, with the same objective, a state-level workshop on 'Child Rights and Child Protection' was organized at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute for Public Administration (MAGSIPA) in Chandigarh. Stakeholders involved in the Mission Vatsalya scheme, including District Child Protection Officers, Child Protection Officers, Counselors, Members of the Child Welfare Committee, Members of the Juvenile Justice Board, representatives of Child Care Institutes, District Legal Service Authorities and Special Juvenile Police Officers participated in the workshop.
Addressing all the stakeholders present at this program, the Minister emphasized that child exploitation, child labour, and child beggary are issues that jeopardize the future of children. She added that by providing education, healthcare, and financial support in accordance with Child rights, every child can be transformed into a responsible and successful citizen, ensuring a secure future.
Madhvi Kataria, Director of the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development welcomed officials and stakeholders from various departments. She acquaintance into the program's purpose and discussed the work carried out by the department's stakeholders, including the Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, District Child Protection Unit and Child Care Institutes.
