Punjab government sanctions Rs 10 Cr for focal points

Chandigah, September 3 2012: The Punjab Government today sanctioned Rs 10 crore for the development of Focal Points across the state. The Special Purpose Vehicle would also be set up to ensure quality infrastructure and facilities in all Focal Points through at the state.

Disclosing this here today Industry and commerce Minister, Punjab Anil Joshi said besides that Punjab Government has also issued notification for the Punjab Common Infrastructure (Regulation and Maintenance) act 2012 with an aim to  uplift the basic Infrastructure in all Focal Points.

The Minister further said that the Punjab Government has made necessary changes in the Act to attract the private players for the maintenance of Focal Points. He said that Industrial Focal Points and Parks would be set up in all Focal Points under the Public-Private partnership.

He said that Punjab Government has committed to provide all kind of facilities in Focal points to attract the Investment in the state. He said that with the money facility of roads, street lights, water supply, sewerage connections, Garbage treatment plants would be provided in Focal Points.

The Minister said that to improve the condition of Focal Points, the SAD-BJP Government led by Chief Minister has taken many initiatives, so that the target of Rs 1 lakh crore investments could be met.
