Punjab Government should release adequate funds for repair and maintenance of Deep Tubewells specially for Kandi area

The farmers of Punjab have the honour of achieving first Green Revolution by producing maximum yield of wheat. As in the past it was the chain of canals that irrigated agriculture land and in the Kandi Area the farmers had to depend upon the natural rainfall. But, with the allocation of financial assistance of the World Bank, NABARD and the engineers had planned for deep tubewells (DTW) followed by framing and implementation of DTW.
Now, DTW are playing revolutionary role for the farmers to achieve the ultimate goal of second green revolution especially in the Kandi Belt in the foothills of Shivalik Range. There is a growing demand that Punjab Government should release adequate funds for the repair and maintenance of DTW especially for the Kandi Area belt within time without delay and refrain. There should not be any financial crunch for the purpose so that the ultimate goal of Second Green Revolution can be achieved within stipulated period.
