Punjab government taking care of people from all sections of society: Member, Punjab State Commission for Minorities
Interacts with residents regarding problems related to distribution of ration
Ludhiana: Punjab State Commission for Minorities Member Ahmed Ali Guddu today assured the people from the minority communities that in view of the ongoing Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, Punjab government is taking care of people from all sections of the society. He said that interests of any community would not be neglected during these testing times.
He said this while interacting with members of minority community in ward number 88, 59, 2, 11 and 12 of city.
While speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Ali Guddu stated that the Punjab government is already making sincere efforts for providing either cooked food or dry ration to the needy persons. He said that due to high population, sometimes it becomes difficult to provide these items to the needy on time. He said that to redress these issues, the Commission has formed a state-level committee and that is why, he visited Ludhiana today and listened to the problems of people.
He also directed SDM Amrinder Singh Malhi, ACP Gurbinder Singh, Tehsildar Gurmeet Singh and other officials to immediately provide ration to the persons who have still not got ration. He also handed over lists of needy persons to the district administration officials. He also directed the officials to make Aadhar and other identification cards of the needy persons.
He also deputed ACP Gurbinder Singh to investigate the matter in which people, who had gone to get ration from a Police Station, were lathi charged.
