Chandigarh, March 6, 2018: To bring a permanent solution to the issues related to the Rural Dispensary Pharmacists, the Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa assured that he would take up the issues with the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Mr.Bajwa met a delegation of Rural Dispensary Pharmacists Union and gave patient hearing to their demands here today. The minister assured them that Punjab Government is working on a module to bring a positive solution to their genuine demands.

The Minister assured to increase the wages of rural dispensaries of pharmaceuticals from the new financial year. He also said that contract of pharmacists ending on 31st March would be extended.

During the meeting, the representatives of the pharmacist association said that they have been working on contract for the last 12 years, but the previous government never paid any attention to their demands. The Pharmacists also proposed that on the pattern of teachers, if their services are made regular, then they are willing to work on the basic salary for three years as per the instructions of the government. The panchayat minister said that he is concerned about the issues and would discuss with the chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and if needed would be placed in the cabinet.

Amongst others present in the meeting included Mr. Anurag Verma Principal Secretary Rural Development Department, Mr. C. Siban Director, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Sidhu Deputy Director, Gurdarshan Singh Bahia OSD and representatives of the Pharmacist Association of Rural Dispensaries.
