Punjab Governor to inaugurate hospital at GHUDDA

Chandigarh, September 14, 2012: Punjab Governor Shivraj V.Patil would inaugurate the Sub-divisional Hospital at Ghudda in district Bathinda on September 22 and the Mega Medical Checkup Camp at Village Badal in Muktsar district on September 23.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the CMO said that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today called on Punjab Governor at Raj Bhawan this morning to request him for the inauguration of Sub-divisional Hospital at Ghudda and mega medical checkup camp at village Badal.    

Acceding to the request of the Chief Minister, Patil consented to inaugurate the hospital at Ghudda as well as medical checkup camp at village Badal.   Patil would also visit the Sports School, Government College and Remount Academy at Ghudda.

It may be recalled that the Punjab government is committed to provide the best of health care services to the total population of the State. These services are provided through a vast network of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Care Centres.

The spokesperson further said that the state government through its continuous effort had provided State-of-the-Art health care services to the rural population.  The State government has been setting up new health centres in the rural areas apart from the up-gradation of others. In the same series, a new Sub-divisional Hospital has been constructed at Ghudda in District Bathinda.  In addition to this, efforts are also made to provide specialist and super-specialist health care services to the poor rural populations, who are unable to afford these services due to financial constraints. In order to provide these services at the doorstep of the poor rural population, a Mega Medical Checkup Camp is being organized at village Badal, on 23-24 September, 2012, where specialists and super-specialists from 14 disciplines, including Dentists would provide health services to more than 10,000 patients over two days. Laboratory Services, Medicines and General Health Awareness Services would also be part of this mega camp.
