Chandigarh, January 25, 2013: Inside the complex and court rooms, many other things like the C.C.T.V. cameras, cameras and tape recorders, to record the evidence, to record the arguments may be needed. These kinds of gadgets will reduce the time and efforts needed to do speedier and more correct justice.
Expressing these views after inaugurating New Judicial Complex today in Sector 43, Chandigarh, the Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shivraj V. Patil, said that, this is an enormous complex. It may provide more and better facilities for the courts, the lawyers and the people to help in doing speedier and better justice. It may meet their demands of a few years to come but something more and better is required to be done.
He asked the Advisor, KK Sharma, Chief Architect and all concerned officers of UT Administration to chalk out a comprehensive plan for the court rooms of next block of this complex which is going to be constructed in the next phase. He said screen, cameras and recording gadgets should be fixed in the Court Rooms to provide speedy and superior justice. He assured that required funds for these modern Court Rooms would be provided.
Speaking on the occasion, Patil said to give speedier, more just, and less expensive justice, the cooperation between the judges, the lawyers, the government officers, the experts, the witnesses, the litigants, the people at large, the media, is required. In absence of cooperation between them, it may not be very easy to achieve the objectives of doing full, speedier and effective justice. Besides this, he emphasised on adopting holistic approach which is necessary to produce better results. Nothing is possible to do in a correct manner, without adopting a holistic and cooperative approach.
Prominent amongst others who spoke on the occasion included Justice A.K. Sikri, Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Rajiv Bhalla, Chairman Building Committee Chandigarh and Justice TPS Mann, Administrative Judge Chandigarh Session Division.
