Punjab Govt appoints Er. Harjit Singh as PSPCL Director/Generation & CA. Vinod Kumar Bansal as PSTCL Director/Finance & Commercial 

Patiala, October 10, 2024: Punjab Government has appointed Er. Harjit Singh as Director/Generation, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) for two years. 

Hailing from Patiala, Harjit Singh an alumnus of Thapar University,  has around 30 years of experience in the field of Design/Construction/Operation & Maintenance in Thermal/ Hydel Power Stations. He had also represented PSPCL in Technical Committee Meetings and Purchase Committee meetings of BBMB. 

Further, in the year 2000,Er. Harjit Singh had attended 1-year Advanced Professional training in Germany with emphasis on Environment Protection Technologies for Thermal Power Stations. 
He had also served as EIC-cum-OSD to CMD in the past. He had been assisting CMD in matters related to Fuel, O&M of Thermal/ Hydel Power Stations in Generation Wing, Distribution, Sub-Transmission & Commercial issues.

Also, as Chief Engineer Hydel,Er. Harjit Singh was looking after Construction works of 206 MW Shahpur Kandi Project in addition to Design, Renovation and Modernisation and Operation and Maintenance works of all Hydel Projects of PSPCL. As Addl SE/ Sr Xen he had looked after construction of 2X250 MW GHTP Stage -II Boiler and HP Piping. He had also worked in CHP Heavy Equipment Maintenance Cell and Turbo Generator Maintenance Cell for 2X210 MW and 2X250 MW GHTP units.

Reacting to his appointment, Er. Harjit Singh has thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Power Minister Punjab Harbhajan Singh ETO for reposing faith in his services rendered so far. He remarked that the new appointment  has enthused him to  provide efficient and sincere service for the power sector in Punjab. He said he would fulfil all aspiration of Punjab CM and Power Minister, adding that he would utilise his full experience of in various fields specially Generation while performing on the new post.

Among others, PSPCL CMD Er. Baldev Singh Sran, Director /Distribution Er. DPS Grewal, Director/Commercial Er. Ravinder Singh Saini, Er. Padamjeet Singh Patron AIPEF and other officers were present at the joining of Er.Harjit Singh today. He started taking meeting of the officers immediately after taking over the charge, thus, showing his commitment towards his working. He interacted with the officers on various points in the today’s meeting.   

Meanwhile, CA. Vinod Kumar Bansal has been appointed as Director/Finance & Commercial, Punjab State Transmission Corporation Ltd (PSTCL) for two years by Punjab Government. He has a vast experience of more than 34 years post CA qualification.
