Candlelight march taken out by Punjab Youth Development Board in Ludhiana in protest of the heinous incident that took place in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh
Ludhiana: A candlelight march was organized by the Punjab Youth Development Board in Ludhiana today in protest of the rape of a Dalit girl Manisha in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. S. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Chairman, Punjab Youth Development Board (Govt. of Punjab) took part in the candlelight march.
The candle march led by District Coordinator, Ludhiana (Urban) Shri Nitin Tandon started from Durga Mata Mandir Sarabha Nagar to Gurdwara Chowk. A large number of young men and women of the district participated in it. S. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Chairman strongly condemned the shameful incident and said that instead of handing over the body of the victim to her family, the police in Hathras had cremated her in the middle of the night. which was completely wrong. He prayed for the soul of the girl victim and demanded severe punishment for the culprits and said that he has full faith in the law and hoped that the culprits of this unfortunate incident would not be spared.
On this occasion Mr. Nitin Tandon, District Coordinator, Ludhiana (Urban) said that the whole country stands with the family of our daughter, our sister late Manisha and demands that the perpetrators of this heinous incident be punished severely as it is the confidence of the people of the country. In this democratic country, the law is equal for all.
Mr Bindra assured that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed for welfare and safety of women.
At the end of this candle march, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra commended the participation of all the youth participating in this protest march and thanked them all.
