Punjab govt gives option to family pensioners

Chandigarh, October 9, 2012: The Punjab government has given option to family pensioners who get employed in government service or re-employed family pensioners to either claim the benefit of Travel Concession or the benefit of leave Travel Concession available to government employees.

Divulging the further details, the official spokesperson of the Finance Department said that the department has clarified that a family pensioner, who got employed in government service, should have the option to claiming either the benefit of Travel Concession as a family pensioner of the benefit of Leave Travel Concession admissible to a government employee.

Adding, he said that the family pensioner could exercise the requisite option within a period of six months from the date of the joining the government services or from the date of issue of this latter, whichever is later. The spokesperson further said that the option once exercised, would be entertained as final.
