PUNJAB-Holiday in shops, commercial establishments and factories on July 3

Chandigarh, July 2, 2013: Punjab Government has declared July 3 a paid holiday in all the shops and commercial Establishments in the State under second provision to sub section (1) of section 10 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 to enable the workmen working in shops and commercial establishment to exercise their franchise in the Gram Panchayat Elections to be held on July3.

While disclosing this here a spokesman of Punjab Government said that Punjab Government has also declared Wednesday (July 3, 2013) the weekly paid holiday for all factories where Wednesday is not close day within the state in lieu of their Normal weekly holiday to enable the workmen working in the factories situated within the state to exercise their franchise in the Gram Panchayat Election to be held on July 3, 2013.
