Punjab may witness record polling in assembly election 2022
The virtual rallies, meetings are already in progress by various political parties
With the announcement by Chief Election Commission by allowing maximum permission allowing 20 persons in door to door campaign, 500 persons in a hall and 1000 in public rallies in Punjab have once again brought cheers on the faces of the political leaders and their supporters, virtual rallies also cannot be ruled out in coming days. At present, party flags can be seen on the rooftop of the houses, banners on the houses where permission has been granted by the owner of the property, opening of election offices of the candidates in full swing. The political parties have also become hi-tech due to revolution in the communication, Information & Technology. The virtual rallies, meetings are already in progress by various political parties but it seems that BJP is ahead in this exercise of campaigning due to hi-tech IT Department. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not address public rally due to blockade of road in Ferozepur, senior congress leader Rahul Gandhi had already participated in a virtual rally in Jalandhar City. Similarly, AAP convener and Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has also participated in public meetings in Punjab. SAD (B) Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal is also not far behind in carrying out series of meetings. Both Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi are contesting assembly elections. Aam Adami Party (AAP) has announced its chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Man, SAD (B) has projected Sukhbir Singh Badal. Congress is yet not announced its CM candidate. All the political parties are focusing on Malwa because in Malwa Zone there are maximum number of assembly seats. Capt Amarinder Singh is contesting from Patiala, Parkash Singh Badal from Lambi, Charanjit Singh Channi from two constituencies namely Chamkaur Sahib and Bhadaur, Bhagwant Mann from Dhuri, Sukhbir Singh Badal from Jalalabad, Manoranjan Kalia from Jalandhar Central, Navjot Singh Sidhu from Amritsar East. Whatever may be the outcome of the results but one thing is clear that Punjab may witness record polling in this assembly election 2022.
