Punjab National Bank organises Importer-Exporter Meet in association with CICU

Ludhiana, Punjab National Bank, India’s second largest public sector lender, today organised an Importer-Exporter Meet for its Foreign Trade customers in Ludhiana, to educate them about new initiatives and schemes launched by the Bank for their ease.
A.S. Ranga, IRS, Commissioner of Customs, Ludhiana was Chief Guest and Dr. Manjit Bhatoya  ITS, Depty Director of Foreign Trade, Ludhiana, was Guest of Honour. 

The event was organized at Sohan Lal Phawa Auditorium, Focal Point, Ludhiana, in association with Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertaking (CICU). The Meet was hosted by DK Gupta, Zonal Manager, Ludhiana, Punjab National Bank along with Deputy General Manager, Daljit Singh and was moderated by Shri. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President-CICU and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary-CICU.

New initiatives and improvements made by the bank are as follows:
•    Launched Trade Finance Portal which allows customers to scan & upload documents for same day processing by the branch. Earlier, customers had to visit branch to submit documents in physical form.
•    FX-Retail Portal which provides customers direct access to Interbank Market, facilitating sale & purchase of foreign exchange up to USD 50,000 per day.
•    Online Loan Request Facility allowing exports to apply for Export Finance without visiting the Branch.
•    Facility for Relaxation In Forex Service Charges according to business turnover of the customers.
•    Dedicated Customer Care Desk set up at Trade Finance Centre to provide hassle free services to customers.
•    Facility for customers to deal in 12 Foreign Currencies.
•    Faster processing of Inwared Remittances on T+0 basis.

Gupta informed that house that, “The Bank has been consistently providing first-class services, at most competitive rates, to its importers and exporters to help grow their businesses, and is always proactive for up-gradation of its products & services. The customers will be greatly benefited from new initiatives taken by the Bank in the field of Foreign Trade.”

After relaxations in global lockdown, there is surge in foreign business. As such, Bank’s special initiative to address the requirements of its importers & exporters received encouraging response from borrowers in Ludhiana, making event a great success.
