Punjab News- BSF seizes 13 Kg heroin valuing Rs.65 crore at Ratto Ke BOP

Ferozepur September 12, 2013: Giving a befitting reply to the Pakistani smugglers on Indo-Pak international border Ratto Ke, BOP, BSF 191 jawans, under the leadership of Commanding Officer D.K.Pramnik, seized 13 Kg heroin, two grenade, one supper gold quality 30 bore foreign pistol, 2 magazine and 50 live cartridges.

Giving this information, DIG BSF, Ferozepur, Ravi Joseph Loku informed, the value of heroine recovered is Rs.65 crore in the international market.

DIG Loku informed, on Wednesday night, at Ratto Ke BOP, in Khemkaran sector under his jurisdiction, the BSF Bn 191 jawans saw some movement of some suspicious nature persons on Pakistan side and BSF jawans observed that four persons from Pakistan side are moving forward.  BSF cops challenged them and at about 1.30 am, Pakistani smugglers started firing.  In return, the BSF jawans also fired and one Pakistani smuggler was injured in firing while his three accomplices managed to move back to Pakistan taking along with the injured one.

He further informed that on searching the area, the BSF jawans recovered 14 packets from one pipe near the pillar No.169/12, out of which 13 packets contained heroine of one kg each and in one packet, two grenades and ammunition. After taking into possession of heroine and arms, BSF is now working of theory to locate as to whom this delivery was to be given on the Indian side and to identify the smugglers.
