Government takes historic decision by opening up Punjab’s first sports university: Rana Sodhi
Registration starts for admission in 3-years undergraduate courses
Ferozepur: The setting up of Maharaja Dalip Singh Sports University in Patiala was a historic decision taken by Punjab government and pass out of this country's first sports university will be ensure ample employment and job opportunities, said Punjab sports and youth affair minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi during interaction with people at his residence in Ferozepur.
Mr. Sodhi said the dream of Punjab's first sports university could become a reality only because of the concerted efforts of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and the registration for undergraduate courses has been started from July 20, 2020.
He said that the idea behind the opening up this university was to revitalize the sports culture in the state besides connecting the youth of Punjab with their rich sports legacy adding he said that under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Lieutenant General (Retd.) J.S. Cheema registration for three undergraduate courses including Bachelors of Physical Education and Sports (B.P.I.S.), B.S.C. (Sports Science) and B.S.C. (Sports Nutrition and Dietetics) have been started.
The minister further added that the pass outs of this university to have huge opportunities of job and employment chances and urged the students to get them registered for 2020-21 academic session as registration would remain open till August 20, 2020, and aspirants could apply online through the university's official website mbspsu.pgsgcpe.com from July 20, 2020.
In the meantime, the minister had a meeting with the people of Guruharsahai constituency and interacted with them while on spot resolving their grievances. He told people that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government was committed to winning over this ongoing fight against the Corona Virus and besides exhorting them to follow the government's guidelines like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, washing hands and not stepping out of homes unnecessarily. He said that there was no paucity of funds for the development of the constituency and reinforced his commitment to make Guruharsahai one the leading constituencies in the state from the development point of view. On the occasion Mr. Gurdeep Singh Dhillo, Mr. Amritpal Singh, Mr. Vicky Dhillon, Mr. Angrej Singh, and others were present.
