Work worth Rs.1.50 crore allotted to preserve pristine glory of Saragarhi Heritage: Pinki
Facilitation centre, parks, beautification of the complex part of ambitious project
Ferozepur: In another major push to revamp the tourism infrastructure in Ferozepur district, the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government has allotted work worth Rs. 1.50 Crore to develop and preserve the pristine glory of Saragarhi Memorial Complex.
Divulging more, MLA Ferozepur Urban Mr. Parminder Singh Pinki said that the work was allotted to a Patti based company M/s Chandan Arvind Construction Co, which is all set to start the project within a couple of days.
The MLA further added that the Saragarhi Memorial Complex was built in Ferozepur as a tribute to our 21 soldiers who while demonstrating distinctive valor and gallantry laid their lives in the history's fiercest battles ever fought at Saragarhi fort.
Pointing our further, Mr. Pinki said that after the formation of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government in 2017, to mark the Saragarhi day and to commemorate these brave soldiers, the state-level functions were being organized yearly in Ferozepur adding he said that a delegation of British Army visits this historic memorial every year to pay obeisance.
The MLA commented that it was needed of the hour to connect our new generations with history through these projects which would prove to be a milestone.
The MLA further added that the plan includes the development of a park, construction of a facilitation center, beautification and lighting work, and most importantly preserving the heritage of this place adding the adjoining forest lands would be taken over for the development of a park here. Mr. Pinki said that there was no paucity of funds as the memorial trust was also having another grant Rs. 2 Crore announced by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
He reiterated that with the completion of all these projects Ferozepur district would emerge as a key tourist destination in the region. Besides all, this would open an ample of direct and indirect employment opportunities for Ferozepurians, the MLA concluded.
