Punjab Orthopaedics Annual Conference (POACON-2019)

Ludhiana, October 20, 2019: Department of Orthopaedics, which organized two-day Punjab Orthopaedics Annual Conference (POACON 2019) on 19th and 20th October, was formally inaugurated today by the chief guest- Dr Raj Bahadur (Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot). 

Also present on the occasion  Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, medical administrates of DMCH, office bearers of Punjab Orthopaedics Annual Conference  and other faculty members.

In his address, the chief guest Dr Raj Bahadur lauded the efforts of Department of Orthopaedics in organizing this conference of repute. In his message, Dr Raj Bahadur said that besides having just theoretical knowledge of the subject, it is the competency and efficiency of doctors which is beneficial for the patients and for society as a whole 

Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said that DMCH has always been on the forefront in conducting such CMEs and conferences to update the academic and practical knowledge of budding doctors and surgeons.

Organizing Chairperson- Dr Rajnish Garg (Professor & Head of Orthopaedics) extended warm welcome to all the distinguished guest speakers and participating delegates. The two-day conference focused on various topics including Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement and Trauma, said Dr Garg. The first day of the workshop, held yesterday  be witnessed hands-on-training workshop on cadavers.

Organizing Secretary- Dr Pankaj Mahindra (Associate Professor of Orthopaedics) proposed a vote of thanks to all those present on the occasion and said that elaborative lectures delivered by eminent orthopaedic surgeons will go a long way in enhancing the knowledge of  the participating delegates.

During the conference, lifetime achievement award was given to Former Principal of DMCH and renowned Orthopaedician of the region-Dr SC Ahuja. Former Heads of Departments of Orthopaedics including Dr JL Bassi and Dr Mohd. Yameen were also  felicitated.
