Punjab & Sind Bank Branch being inaugurated at Dharamsala on Saturday.
Dharamsala, July 27, 2013: Punjab & Sind Bank has opened its 1149th branch at Dharamsala on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Zonal Manager Darshan Singh said, “With the commissioning of this branch the Bank has 15th branch in Himachal, and first in Kangra district. Bank shall open three more branches in the district in Jassur, Nagrota Bagwan and Kangra in Augast.” He said that Punjab & Sind Bank has a business of Rs. 1 lakh 25 thousand crore.
He said, “Punjab & Sind Bank started its operation in 1908, when a humble idea to uplift the poorest of poor of the land culminated in the birth of Punjab & Sind Bank with the far-sighted vision of luminaries like Bhai Vir Singh, Sir Sunder Singh Majithia and Sardar Tarlochan Singh. They enjoyed the highest respect with the people of Punjab.”

Dharamsala branch was opened by the Himachal Urban development Minister Sudhir Sharma. He said that people of Himachal highly trust the Banking system, and expansion of banks is directly proportion to development.
