Punjab State Women Commission chairperson Manisha Gulati meets rape victim girl child at her village Roomi today
Assures accused to be arrested soon, does counselling of Victim
Roomi (Ludhiana): Punjab State Women Commission chairperson Manisha Gulati today met 7-year-old rape victim girl child at her village Roomi, near Jagraon today. She said that the accused is still on the run and would be arrested soon. She was also accompanied by Political Secretary to CM Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu and Ludhiana (Rural) SSP Charanjit Singh Sohal.
It is pertinent to mention that a 7-year-old girl child was raped by her neighbour at village Roomi of district Ludhiana on July 9, 2021. Ever since this heinous crime took place, the accused is on the run and the Ludhiana (Rural) police has formed several teams to nab him.
While speaking to media persons after meeting the victim and her parents, Manisha Gulati assured that the accused would to be arrested soon. She said that the commission has issued strict directions to the police for nabbing the accused at the earliest. She also did counselling of the Victim girl.
Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Political Secretary to CM Punjab and senior Congress leader, said that the case for providing financial compensation to the victim and her family has been submitted with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ludhiana for further action. He too assured full support for the victim and her family.
