Punjabi Department of HMV organized inter class poetry competition
Jalandhar, November 23, 2021: The Punjabi Sahit Sabha of Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized an Inter Class Poetry Recitation Competition in context of 75 years celebration of India’s Independence. Students from various streams & classes enthusiastically participated in this competition in all the 3 languages i.e., English, Hindi & Punjabi. The topics of the poems were love for country, importance of relations, social evils, women sensitivity and environmental issues. Around 30 students participated in this competition. The judges were Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur and Mrs. Lovleen Kaur. Head of Punjabi Department Mrs. Navroop Kaur encouraged the students to be more sensitive towards literature. She said that we should read good literature in order to write good literature. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen encouraged the students to inculcate in them a book culture and told them about the importance of literature in development of society. In Punjabi poetry, Km Kirti got 1st prize, Km. Simranjeet got 2nd prize and Km. Charu got 3rd prize. In English Poetry Km. Harpreet Kaur got 1st, Km. Jyot Sifat got 2nd and Km. Aashima got 3rd prize. In Hindi poetry, Km. Sheetal got 1st , Km. Aanchal got 2nd and Km. Roohani got 3rd prize. Incharge Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Mrs. Kuljit congratulated the winners.
On this occasion Mrs. Veena Arora, Mrs. Satinder Kaur, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Ms. Manpreet Kaur, Ms. Pawandeep Kaur were also present. Stage was conducted by Sahitya Sabha Secretary Ms. Rajinder Kaur.
