Jalandhar, July 5, 2024: Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee.
Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. The main objective of this camp is to teach Bhangra to Punjabis while connecting them with the heritage of Punjab. Every year male and female participants of all ages participate in this camp with full enthusiasm.
Dr. Bolina said that the online registration regarding the camp is going on and about 350 participants have registered while the offline registration will be done on 09 and 10 July at 5.00 pm at the open air theater of the college.
The poster of Bhangra camp was also released by Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Prof. Balraj Kaur and the Steering Committee. Meanwhile, T-shirts were distributed to the staff and students related to the management and executive committee like every year.
Prof. Palwinder Singh, in charge of the camp, said that these T-shirts have been sponsored by the old students of the college who were members of the Bhangra team during 2021-23. Meanwhile, members of the administrative team Prof. Ajitpal Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Harjinder Kaur, Prof. Ravneet Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur, Prof. Unkar, Prof. Sonu Gupta, Prof. Kirandeep Kaur, Surinder Kumar Chalotra (PA) Jitinder Lambard, Charanjit Channi, Jaisanpreet Singh, Sukhjit Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Jasdeep Singh, Jagat Singh, etc. were present.
