Ludhiana: Punjabi Lok Virasat Academy organizes an online International Symposium and kavi darbar wherein thinkers and writers from across America, Canada and European nations participate.
Sharing this information, Prof Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Chairman of Punjabi Lok Virasat Academy told that S. Dharam Singh Goraya (Maryland-America) who wrote a voluminous book on Dulla Bhatti will deliver his key note address when Dr. S P Singh, a former Vice Chancellor will presides over the online meet.
Prof Gurbhajan singh Gill informed that 26th March is remembered as a martyrdom day of Dulla Bhatti who was a rebel fighter in the kingdom of Akbar-the Mogul King. Dulla Bhatti gave the Lahore Darbar many a sleepless nights and he also announced to fight the Delhi Sultanate. It is believed that Bhatti’s grandfather Sandal and father Farid were murdered and their bodies were hung outside the Lahore Fort.
In fact, Dullla Bhatti was a first fearless farmer of Punjab’s soil who refused to pay tax (lagaan-malia) to the authorities.
In this poetic symposium dedicated to Dulla Bhatti’s martyrdom and farmers’ struggle, Smt. Sukhwinder Amrit(Mohali),Mr.Tarlochan Lochi (Ludhiana),Mohan Gill(Canada), Daljit Sandhu(Bathinda),Sarabjit Kaur Jas(Patiala),Harvinder (Chandigarh),Sukhvinder Kamboj(USA),Manjinder Dhanoa(Ludhiana),Jagsir Jeeda(Bathinda),Simarjit Kaur Grewal(Chandigarh),Dr.Gurminder Sidhu(Mohali),Ram Singh Albela(Amloh),Daljinder Rehal(Italy),Gurbaj Singh Chheena (Amritsar),Dr.Ashwani Bhalla(Ludhiana) and Karamjit Grewal(Ludhiana) will participate.
Kavi darbar will be presided by Dr. Surjit Patar, an eminent poet and President of Punjab Arts Council.
The technical coordination of this online symposium will be provided by Dr. Ashwani Bhalla of SCD Government College, Ludhiana.
