Ludhiana, January 25, 2024: A significant short documentary showcasing the glimpse of vivid Tourism and Heritage locations of Punjab has been dedicated to National Tourism Day 2024, with aim to promote the lesser known natural and Heritage locations of Punjab within India. The significant pictorial work has been compiled by Punjab based Author, Nature Artist & Heritage Promoter Harpreet Sandhu. As Nature has blessed Punjab with colors of every season and some remarkable heritage sites having relevance with history of our Nation.
He said today India has a remarkable position because of magnificent places that are famous as tourist destinations across different States, having rich culture heritage, which attracts a lot of tourists from across the globe. To celebrate the diversity of the country, the national tourism day is celebrated on 25th January with aim to appreciate the country’s beauty and make people aware of the importance of tourism and how it impacts economy of our nation. India celebrates several glorious days that have historical importance. We all are aware of days like Republic Day and Independence Day because these are celebrated extravagantly since India’s independence. But most of the population of India is not aware of a day known as national tourism day. Infact tourism is one such activity that falls under the social, cultural, and economic sectors and moreover tourism is an essential activity if you want to build relationships with other countries or local communities and moreover it promotes the tourism industry and makes sure that the tourist destinations of our country remain sustainable and preserved. Tourism not only plays a significant role in strengthening the bonds between countries and communities but also impacts the country’s economy. The economy of India has been benefited from tourism immensely, and especially the local communities that live around the tourist spots have got various advantages financially from this industry.
Further, he said we need to promote the theme of National Tourism Day 2024 “Sustainable Journeys, Timeless Memories.” which is related to India’s diversity and culture, the theme underscores the concept of responsible and mindful travel, urging travellers to make choices to witness one of the best tourist places like Punjab, Goa, Kerala, Srinagar and Shimla having significant attraction of Natural and Heritage locations for the tourists.
