Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University today organised an exposure visit taking its Masters 1ST Year degree course students to the Punjab State Human Rights Commission in Sector 34, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, October 8, 2024: Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University today organised an exposure visit taking its Masters 1ST Year degree course students to the Punjab State Human Rights Commission in Sector 34, Chandigarh.
Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights and Duties Prof. Namita Gupta, planned the field visit to the PSHRC which is the first of many to follow, to multifarious quasi-judicial institutions as part of the pragmatic study vital to the academic curriculum at the Centre. The Masters students and Research Scholars, Gurdeep Singh, Navjot Kaur and Alka were accompanied by Dr. Kanika Sharma, Guest Faculty, who had a vibrant interactive session with the Chairperson PSHRC, Justice Sant Parkash who actively engaged the students in a versatile human rights discourse urging them to collaborate with the PSHRC for internships and more such like academic exchanges & awareness projects. He inspired the students for taking charge of being change-agents for greater human rights efficacy in the state of Punjab as well as U.T. Chandigarh. They were also apprised of the Commission’s jurisdiction, functioning and working by Rohit Chatrath, computer analyst at the PSHRC.
