PushOwl, leading web push notification start-up, gets acquired by Sendinblue in combined deal of $47 million
The bootstrapped start-up will continue to function as an independent brand
Bengaluru, September 22, 2021: PushOwl, an online marketing tool for e-commerce stores to enable web push notification, announced today that it has been acquired by France based, Sendinblue, as their e-commerce arm in India. Along with PushOwl, Sendinblue also acquired two other e-commerce marketing companies, Chatra and Metrilo, for a combined deal of more than $47 million. A major part of this deal was dedicated to acquiring PushOwl, among the three companies. Shashank Kumar, the founder of PushOwl will continue leading the company, and he will also join the Sendinblue leadership team as VP, Product.
The acquisition comes 11 months following Sendinblue’s $160 million Series B funding round to drive product expansion and increase growth in the North American market. “Acquiring PushOwl, Metrilo, Chatra are part of Sendinblue’s longer term vision to expand our marketing capabilities and dive into the growing e-commerce space,” said Armand Thiberge, CEO, Sendinblue. “Now, our all-in-one digital marketing solution will become even more powerful, enabling these businesses to expedite sales and drive strategic business decisions.”
