PWD allots tender for balance work at Halwara Airport: MP Arora
Public Works Department (B&R), Punjab has allotted a tender in favour of Kabir Infra Pvt Ltd for carrying out balance work at the under-construction Halwara Airport, according to an official information available with AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora.
Ludhiana, April 15, 2023: Public Works Department (B&R), Punjab has allotted a tender in favour of Kabir Infra Pvt Ltd for carrying out balance work at the under-construction Halwara Airport, according to an official information available with AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora.
According to the official information, the concerned firm is to carry out works including construction of internal roads, estate public health services and campus lighting at the Halwara Airport where work of construction is in progress speedily.
The work has been allotted to Kabir Infra Pvt Ltd at Rs 15,37,15,100, which is 2.7 per cent less than the tender price of Rs 15,87,14,658.
The concerned firm has been allotted tender with certain conditions including carrying out work as per Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORT&H) Specification and that the instructions issued by the Government/Finance Department from time to time should be strictly followed.
The construction firm has been given five months working time to complete the work mentioned in the tender.
As per the official information, the tender was allocated in second week of April this year.
Giving this information in a statement here today, Arora expressed his satisfaction over the latest development. He said it is good to find that everything is being done in a time-bound manner. He hoped that concerned construction firm will follow all conditions mentioned at the time of allotting the tender and the work will be done as per technical specification well within time.
Arora said the state government has been strictly ensuring that there should be no compromise with quality of work even though the work has been goingon on a speedy track.
He added the project has already been delayed due to one or another reason in the past. But it is good to find that now the project is in its final stages.
Arora hoped that a few months are left when flights will start operating from the Halwara Airport.
Further, Arora reiterated that the project once takes practical shape will prove economically beneficial not only for Ludhiana but for whole of the state.
With personal interference of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann the state government has already released Rs 50 crores for early completion of the work at the civil air terminal, he said.
