QIP Short term course on “Machine Learning Applications in Engineering” held at GNDEC
Ludhiana, February 8, 2019: A QIP Short term Program on “Machine Learning Applications in Engineering” which started on 4 Feb, 2019 by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, G.N.D.E.C., Ludhiana was successfully concluded on 8 Feb, 2019. Many well known professionals from top organizations like IITs, NITs, Faculties from G.N.D.E.C and various industries shared their expertise. More than 50 Faculty members and Research scholars from different colleges were present to attend the course. During this course, the topics on which Resource persons emphasized included Introduction to machine Learning through motivational stories, Essentials of Machine Learning Algorithms, Artificial intelligence in Mobile Robotics etc. with relevant case studies. Also, practical knowledge was imparted to the participants on various tools like WEKA and Python. This course not only enlightened the participants about new technologies but also provided a platform to share their ideas with each other. Dr. Sudharshan Iyenger, Dr. Neeraj Goel and Dr. Mukesh Saini from IIT Ropar, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Nagla and Dr. Kuldeep Kumar from NIT Jalandhar, Dr. Suneet Kumar Gupta from Bennett University and Dr. Sandeep Singh Gill, Dr. Amit Kamra, Prof Tarandeep Singh from the parent Institute delivered expert talks on various concepts of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence along with hands-on session. On the last day, feedback forms were collected from the participants for the analyses of the course. Valedictory speech was delivered by the Course Coordinators Dr. Sandeep Singh Gill and Prof Tarandeep Singh and certificates were distributed to the participants. The course ended with vote of thanks given by Prof. Chahat Jain.
