Chandigarh: Rotaract Club Chandigarh Shivalik conducted an event "Blooming Buds" on 12 August 2021 on International Youth Day at "Apne Foundation"- an orphanage located in Mohali. Along with the food and cloth donation drive, games were played to uplift the spirits of the children and encourage them towards a brighter future and to never lose hope or give up on their dreams.
There were 30 kids at the foundation, all from different age groups and families and around 8-10 members from Rotaract Club Chandigarh Shivalik were present there. Every child was given some refreshment and one cloth. Along with games, members of RCCS also made them aware about the necessary Covid19 precautions and the need to get vaccinated once they reach the age of 18 years.
Rotaract Club Chandigarh Shivalik President, Rtr. Jasmine Kaur stated "It was a delight to interact with children from different age groups with different ambitions. Playing games with them and spreading happiness was the aim which was successfully fulfilled. It was a heartwarming experience and we would want to conduct many more visits like this."
General Secretary, Rtr. Simmerdeep Kaur, addressing the students, talked about never losing hope, staying positive and never giving up. She said "It doesn't matter if anyone doubts you, you should never give up and stay focused on what you want to achieve."
