Rahul Gandhi's Manipur trip only political tourism: Chugh
BJP national general secretary Tatrun Chugh today strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, for politicising the law and order situation in Manipur.
Chandigarh, July 8, 2024: BJP national general secretary Tatrun Chugh today strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, for politicising the law and order situation in Manipur.
He said as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already updated the nation on how the Centre and the state government have overcome the crisis, Rahul Gandhi was now just indulging in "political tourism".
Chugh said Rahul Gandhi was deliberately trying to foment trouble in the region while playing "cheap politics" in the sensitive state. "If he was so worried about law and order in the country he should have first visited Bengal and Tamil Nadu where violence has been so rampant ", he said.
Chugh also criticized the Congress leaders for trying to run down the prime minister's Moscow visit. He said while the prime minister was adding to the nation's international glory, the Congress has only been sulking and trying to hit India's international status.
