Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala celebrated Foundation Day

Kapurthala, August 18, 2022: Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala celebrated  its Foundation Day on 17th August , thus completing its journey of 37 years . The main program was held at Waris Shah Hall of RCF which was presided over by Ashesh Agarwal, General Manager, RCF. On this occasion the President of RCF Women Welfare Organization Surabhi Agrawal was present as a special guest. All the Senior Officers, employees, office bearers of various unions and associations etc. of RCF also were present in large numbers.

A plethora of attractive cultural items were staged in this event.

On this occasion, Ashesh Agrawal, General Manager, RCF said that the foundation stone of this factory was laid on August 17, 1985 for the manufacturing of railway coaches. Its objective was to introduce new technology in railway coaches, increase the coach production of Indian Railways and generate employment for the youth. Till date, RCF has manufactured more than 40000 rail coaches and has produced  world class coaches with latest technology which has enhanced the reputation of Rail Coach Factory far and wide in the world. In the last three and a half decades, RCF Kapurthala has been at the forefront of upgrading rolling stock in Indian Railways and has introduced a large number of innovative products like AC - 3 Tier, Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Tejas, Double Decker, LHB Parcel Van, AC - 3 Tier Economy etc. , which has made rail travel more convenient.  

Agrawal said that initially, RCF started its journey with very limited resources, but it has now become a prominent production unit with passage of time.  RCF achieved the best ever annual production of 1862 coaches in the last financial year and also achieved the highly acclaimed IRIS Silver certification. He further said that  RCF is committed for honesty, prestige and hard work  and to take RCF to new heights following  the path of continuous improvement.

A Quiz Competition was also organized for the employees on the historical journey, achievements etc. of RCF. Apart from this, an exhibition showing the history of RCF, year after year progress and production capacity was also organized in the Heritage Park of RCF.
