Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala starts bulk production of hand sanitizers
The sanitizer has cost just Rs 60
Kapurthala: Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala has achieved another milestone to fight against the corona virus by preparing hand sanitizer as per the approved procedure of World Health Organization guidelines. According to Mr. Nitin Chaudhary, Chief Quality Manager, it not only meets the demand for sanitizers in RCF and staff families, but also helps in hygiene of the employees who are in essential services. This is less than half the cost of commercial grade hand sanitizer available in the market. The staff of RCF's Metallurgical and Chemical Lab adopted special precautions to maintain the composition and quality of the chemicals used.
An additional highly purified lab isopropyl alcohol, glycerol, and hydrogen peroxide has been added to its mixture to follow the procedure described in the World Health Organization's guide line.
Without adding manpower cost, the sanitizer has cost just Rs 60/-. The 120 ml hand sanitizer is packed in safe bottles and so far RCF has produced 600 bottles and distributed among the RCF staff. When the factory resumes its production of coaches , the hand sanitisers will be distributed to each employee free to maintain hygiene.
In a meeting today, RCF General Manager Mr. Ravindra Gupta appreciated the production of hand sanitizer by RCF's Metallurgical and Chemical Lab and encouraged all the employees for its comprehensive production. /(Rajat Kumar,Jalandhar)
