It may be mentioned here that Ludhiana railway station was started way back in 1860 by the Britishers. And this for the first time that such a huge work of renovation and upgradation has been started since then. The project was hanging in the air over the period but it got green signal only after concrete efforts made by Arora who took up this matter not only in the Rajya Sabha but also with the Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Arora said the project is such a huge one that once it is completed people will see that Ludhiana railway station matches to an airport. He added terminals to be constructed at Ludhiana railway station would not look less than an airport. “Let the time come, when people will feel as if they have entered into the premises of an airport after entering the new premises of Ludhiana railway station”, he remarked.
Further, Arora said he is regularly monitoring the ongoing work under the project, to ensure that everything is done in a time-bound manner. He said he will ensure that the project must completed within the given deadline so that commuters and others may not face problems for a longer period. He hoped that Ludhiana railway station once completed will be a major asset for the city and its residents.
