Ferozepur, August 27, 2013:The people are facing great inconvenience due to heavy rains in the past and due to standing of water in the paddy fields, the nearby houses have also been affected and damaged the standing crop of paddy of small farmers.
About 100 acres have been damaged in village Lakhmirpura area in Guruharsahai Block and the residential area are also under 4-5 water.
The small farmers crop affected are 6 acres of Kewal Krishan, 2 of Satpal, 6 of Amrik Singh, 8 of Ladoo, 3 of Kashmir Chand, one of Sonu, 5 of Shiv, 2 of Resham Maini, 2.5 acre of Binder and others.
All the affected farmers have demanded a suitable compensation from the government.
