Ludhiana: Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan congratulated Raj Chauhan on becoming the Speaker of the British Columbia Legislative Assembly in Canada, calling it a matter of pride for Punjab and especially for Ludhiana as his tots are based in the village Ghor, Ludhiana, Punjab. 

In a statement issued here, Dewan said that Raj Chauhan had gone to Canada after graduating from Arya College in Ludhiana. He became MLA from Paranath Edmundz for the 5th consecutive time in British Columbia.

He was the head of the Canadian Farm Workers Union and fought for the rights of farmers before coming to politics. Similarly, he was also the head of the Hospital Employees Union for 18 years.
Dewan said that Chauhan's election to the Speaker of the British Columbia Assembly was a matter of pride for Punjab, especially Ludhiana.
