Ramagarhia Girls College observed 'International Maat Bhasha Divas'
To celebrate Punjabi Maat Bhasha Divas, P.G. Dept.of Punjabi and Red Ribbon Club of Ramgarhia Girls College organized an extension lecture on "History of Punjabi Language and Challenges it faces in Present Era".

Ludhiana, February 21, 2025: To celebrate Punjabi Maat Bhasha Divas, P.G. Dept.of Punjabi and Red Ribbon Club of Ramgarhia Girls College organized an extension lecture on "History of Punjabi Language and Challenges it faces in Present Era".
Jatinderpal Singh ( Founder and Former Chairman, Guru Gobind Study Circle, Ludhiana) was the keynote speaker. Jaspal Singh ( Secretary, Bhai Veer Singh Literary Society, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana) also graced the occasion. Offg. Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur, Dr. Harbinder Kaur, Head, P.G. Dept.of Punjabi and the faculty of the department extended a floral welcome to the guests.
While addressing the gathering, Jatinderpal Singh said that one should follow religious and moral values to make one's lives peaceful. He further said that in today's chaotic era, It is the need of the hour to stay connected to religion and to preserve mother tongue.
Jaspal Singh enlightened the students about the glorious past history of Punjabi language. He told the students that Punjabi is based on Gurmukhi script and the holy scripture of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is also written in Gurmukhi script so this language can be the best medium to understand Gurbani that can make every individual strong enough to face the dilemmas of life courageously. He also advised students to read more books and also shared some ideas on how to preserve Punjabi culture.
Dr. Ajit Kaur while congratulating the faculty of the department and the students said that any community can grow more prosperously under the influence of its mother tongue. She also advised the students to read more books and also shared some ideas on how to preserve Punjabi culture.
Dr Harbinder Kaur said that the time now demands that Punjabi language be preserved and treasured and revived to its previous place because youth nowadays is getting distracted towards foreign languages and their cultures and they are getting detached from their mother tongue.
Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council and Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary extended their best wishes to one and all present on this day.
To celebrate this day, Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competitions were also conducted by the department which was judged by Prof. Tarvinder Kaur, Head, Dept. of Fine Arts.
At the end of the day, the winners were given away prizes.
