Ludhiana, February 21, 2024: To celebrate 'International Punjabi Maat Bhasha Diwas', the P.G. Department of Punjabi of Ramgarhia Girls College organized a lecture by Jaspal Singh of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana.
Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur extended a warm welcome to the guest. S. Jaspal Singh enlightened the students about the glorious history of the Punjabi language. He told the students that Punjabi is based on Gurmukhi script, and the holy scriptures of Sikhs are also written in Gurmukhi, so this language can be the best medium to understand Gurbani and can make every individual morally strong. He forbade students from using mobile phones and illustrated the demerits of excessive use of mobile phones.
Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur said that any community can grow under the influence of its mother tongue alone.
Dr. Harbinder Kaur, Head, P.G. Department of Punjabi, said that "the time now demands that Punjabi language be preserved and revived to its previous place because youth are now getting detached from their mother tongue." The teachers of the P.G. Department of Punjabi and students attended the lecture.
Ranjodh Singh, President, and Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary of the Ramgarhia Educational Council, also congratulated everyone on this day.
