Ludhiana, March 12, 2025: 54th Annual Athletic Meet was organised with great enthusiasm and zeal at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana on Wednesday.
On this occasion, Avtar Singh Bhogal, Managing Director, M.S. Bhogal N Sons and Gurbaksh Singh Ubi (UK) graced the occasion as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. They were felicitated by Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, Officiating Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur and Prof. Harmanjot Kaur, Head, Dept. of Physical Education. The chief guest took the salute by hoisting the flag and march past and the athletic meet was inaugurated. The oath taking ceremony was performed by the students.
With great enthusiasm, the students took part in 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 meter race, long jump, high jump, discus throw, javelin throw, shot put. Along with this, recreational games like trolley race, spoon potato race, three leg race, chaati race, sack race, on the spot skipping etc were also organized. Sukhdeep Kaur (B.A. 1 Year) (Sports category) and Sapna (M.A. Music Vocal 2nd Year) (Non-Sports category) were declared the Best Athlete. The chief guest congratulated the winners and said, "Sports play a very integral part in our lives and it is even more important for the youth to take up sports along with education and perform well with all their hard work."
Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur congratulated Prof. Harmanjot Kaur for the success of this sports event and said, "The sports students of our college have always made their names shine in the world of sports and we are proud of these sports students."
Ranjodh Singh said, "Our students leave no stone unturn in making their alma mater proud by winning laurels for their excellent performances.
Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, conveyed his best wishes to one and all present and gave a vote of thanks to the guests. At the end of the day, the guests encouraged the winners by distributing prizes to them.
