Ramgarhia Vishawkarma Front Punjab demands implementation of Mandal Commission Report in Punjab

Chandigarh, October 18, 2013: Ramgarhia Vishawkarma Front (Punjab) president Mata Ram Dhiman has claimed that the Punjab Government had got sleepless after seeing holding of nine successful programmes of the Front in the Malwa and the Doaba regions of the state.

In an interaction with the media persons here on Thursday, he regretted that no government had ever hold arm of the Vishawkarma community after the Independence. Rather, the governments had been exploitation with the community over the period, he alleged.

He revealed that the Front had been working for uniting the Vishawkarma community politically, economically and socially. He said they sought memorials be set up in the memory of Bhagwan Vishawkarma, Satguru Namdhari Baba Ram Singh, Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, Brahm Gyani Bhai Lalo and former President Giani Zail Singh, for enlightening the coming generations of Vishawkarma community.

He said the Vishawkarma community was standing on its feet only because of hardworking. But the predecessor governments had been escaping from their duties over the period, he regretted.

Mata Ram Dhiman regretted that the Punjab Government was not implementing 27.5 per cent reservation as per the Mandal Commission Report because it feared that if this was done then members of the Vishawkarma community would hold the posts from panchayat – level to parliament – level.

He urged upon the state government to set up Bhagwan sri Vishawkarma Technical University and colleges in Punjab. He demanded that children of the Vishawkarma community be given unconditional admissions in these educational institutions and all kinds of facilities be given to them.

Further, he demanded that the Punjab government should end creamy layer start issuing BCs certificates to Vishawkarma Ramgarhia community people. He also laid stress on reserving posts on the basis of population for this community in municipal corporations, nagar councils, nagar panchayats, zila parishad, block samiti and panchayats.

Among others, the front’s senior vice president MP Singh Goraya, general secretary Sanjeev Dhiman, vice president Rajnish Dhiman and general secretary Laxmi Narayan were present.
