Randomization of EVM supplementary Ballot Units (BU) held in presence of General Observer, DEO and representatives of political parties
The randomisation of EVM supplementary ballot units (BU) was held in the presence of General Observer Divya Mittal, IAS, District Election Officer (DEO) Sakshi Sawhney and representatives of political parties at the District Administrative Complex on Saturday.
Ludhiana, May 18, 2024: The randomisation of EVM supplementary ballot units (BU) was held in the presence of General Observer Divya Mittal, IAS, District Election Officer (DEO) Sakshi Sawhney and representatives of political parties at the District Administrative Complex on Saturday.
District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney said that the randomisation of supplementary ballot units (BU) has been done as the number of candidates for Ludhiana Parliamentary constituency had increased. Three ballot units would be allotted to each polling booths, as 43 candidates are now in fray.
Sawhney said that a total of 2,921 polling booths would be set up in the assembly constituencies of the district in which EVMs, as well as VVPAT machines, would be installed based on the number of this randomization.
First randomization of EVMs and VVPATs at par with the number of polling booths was held on April 29 and today, the additional 3885 Ballot Units were also randomized.
The randomisation process of the supplementary ballot units was completed in presence of the representatives of political parties. The copies of lists of randomized ballot units were handed over to the representatives of the political parties present in the meeting. The entire process was done under video coverage as per guidelines.
