Range-5 of income-tax department holds webinar with UCPMA

Ludhiana: The Income-tax department had undergone a sea change in its processes recently, with the launch of faceless assessments and taxpayer charter on 13 August this month. To appraise the taxpayers of the details of these new schemes, a webinar was held by Range-5 of the Income-Tax Department, Ludhiana today, which was attended by members and office bearers of United Cycle Parts Association Ludhiana. The talk was led by Dr Tarundeep Kaur, IRS, Additional Commissioner.

She explained how the process of faceless assessments and appeals would work and how it would make the interface between the taxpayer and the department more technology-driven and user friendly. She also appealed to the taxpayers to come forward with their queries which would be resolved by conducting more such webinars in the future also.

Other speakers included Amaresh Shrivastava, ACIT, Bimla Rani ITO etc.

These webinars are being held under a special drive for taxpayer awareness led by the Chief Commissioner of Income-Tax Ludhiana, K.M.Bali, under supervision of DS Chaudhary, PCIT. The Department plans to reach far and wide with these initiatives for aiding taxpayer services.
