Rangotsav 2023 and International Women’s Day, in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas (SSUN), Celebrated on DAVIET Campus
DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET) celebrated Rangotsav 2023 and International Women’s Day on 7th March 2023 in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas (SSUN), an NGO. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, dignitaries, and the faculty and staff of DAVIET.
Jalandhar, March 9, 2023: DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET) celebrated Rangotsav 2023 and International Women’s Day on 7th March 2023 in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas (SSUN), an NGO. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, dignitaries, and the faculty and staff of DAVIET.
The day’s Chief Guest was Ramesh Arya, Vice President DAVCMC, while the Guests of Honours were Mr Arwind Ghai, Secretary DAVCMC, New Delhi, Dr SK Mishra, Registrar IKGPTU Jalandhar, Dr Nitya Sharma, Deputy Controller Examinations IKGPTU Jalandhar and Mrs Rashmi Ghai.
Dr Sanjeev Naval, Principal, DAVIET, delivered the welcome address and highlighted that Holi, the festival of colors, reminds us of the importance of joy, togetherness, and renewal. He shared that the festival stands for the triumph of good over evil, spring’s arrival, and nature’s renewal. He also shared that International Women’s Day is an occasion to honor the achievements of women, recognize their contributions to society, and acknowledge the challenges they face. He emphasised that at DAVIET, every stakeholder is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women through education.
“Education is a powerful tool that can break down barriers and create opportunities for women, and we are proud to have supported many women in their educational journeys,” stated Dr Naval. He also showed his confidence that the festive celebration would bring fresh air to the institute campus and propel it to greater heights of excellence.
Arvind Ghai, Secretary of DAVCMC New Delhi, stated that the event stands for cultural diversity, gender equality, and inclusivity among the DAVIET fraternity. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers and participants in creating an engaging and empowering atmosphere that fosters talent development and personal growth. He also stated that the event is a way to uphold the values and traditions of DAVIET, such as academic excellence, social responsibility, and community building.
Overall, he considered the Rangotsav and International Women’s Day Celebration 2023 at DAVIET as a positive and impactful initiative that contributes to celebrating life’s vibrancy and women’s empowerment.
Dr Nitya Sharma, Deputy Controller Examinations IKGPTU Jalandhar, praised DAVIET for its efforts to promote education and honor the female faculty and staff. She also spoke about the role of SSUN in promoting women’s education and social welfare and emphasized the need for more initiatives to empower women. Dr. Sharma’s speech was insightful and inspiring, and it conveyed a message of hope and progress. Her words resonated with the audience, and her message of education and women’s empowerment left a lasting impression on all who attended the event.
Dr SK Mishra, Registrar of IKGPTU Jalandhar, also addressed the audience and congratulated DAVIET and SSUN for organizing the event and emphasizing the importance of women’s empowerment. Dr. Mishra emphasized the importance of education in shaping a better future for society and stated that institutions like DAVIET play a crucial role in promoting education and knowledge. He then discussed the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment today. He praised DAVIET for its efforts to promote gender equality and for honoring the female faculty and staff. He stressed the need to create an environment where women feel empowered to pursue their dreams and ambitions. Dr. Mishra highlighted the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and NGOs to achieve common goals and create a better society.
The Chief Guest, Ramesh Arya, spoke about women’s empowerment and gender equality, stating that women’s contributions to society are invaluable and must be recognized and celebrated. He commended DAVIET for honoring the female faculty and staff and promoting gender equality through its programs and initiatives. Additionally, Arya emphasized the significance of festivals such as Holi in bringing people together and promoting unity and harmony. He congratulated DAVIET and SSUN for organizing this celebration and promoting Holi’s spirit and women’s achievements.
Rashmi Ghai enthralled the audience with mesmerising rendition of ghazals. The audience enjoyed the performance and responded with huge applauseThe event’s highlight was the “The Wow Factor” ramp walk in which the female faculty and staff dazzled the stage. Another highlight was honoring the female faculty and staff of DAVIET, who have contributed to the institution’s development. The chief attraction was the cultural evening, in which Keemti Lal, Assistant Station Director at Doordarshan Jalandhar and a national music awardee, enthralled the audience with his mesmerizing performance. He performed “mere satguru hai rangrez” and made everyone feel the vibrancy of Holi.
The event was a grand success and brought together the faculty, staff, and guests to celebrate the spirit of womanhood and the festival of colors.
