Rare surgery for removal of Pancreatic Tumor performed at DMCH

Ludhiana, June 20, 2018: Recently 52 years old female suffering from abdomen pain was admitted at DMCH. She was having problem from last three months, and swelling of her abdomen was increasing day by day. She was came with investigations including Ultra sound & CT which revealed that she has pancreatic tumor with the size of 14×10 cm.(8kg)

While undergoing the treatment at Surgery Unit, a team of expert consultants including Dr P S Nain (Professor Department of surgery ), Dr Ashish Ahuja (Associate Professor Department of surgery) ,Dr Anju Bhagtana (Senior Resident Department of surgery ),Dr Suneet kathuria (Professor, Department of Anaesthesia ), Dr Neeru Luthra(Assistant Professor, Department of Anaesthesia )successfully removed the tumor from patients’s pancreas .Patient is recovering well and is taking oral diet now.

Secretary of DMCH Managing society Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said that department of Surgery is offering comprehensive quality care for the patients and extended congratulations the to team of doctors for this rare achievement.

Dr Sandeep Puri (Principal ,DMCH ) said that it is rare surgery and successfully performed by our team and complemented the team of consultants who perform this rare surgery.

Dr Jaspal Singh (Professor & Head of Department of Surgery )said that these kind of tumor occurred only in the young patients but our patient was in middle age. Patient is doing fine postoperatively.
