RAWAR, a trimester long competitive series of activities at PCTE-B School

Students participate in RAWAR, a trimester long competitive series of activities at PCTE-B School, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, November 24, 2014: RAWAR, a trimester long competitive series of activities at PCTE-B School during its third week – A CSR week, resulted in students collecting more than 1400 units of woolen, 92 Mattresses, 156 Double Bed Blanket, 85 Single Bed Blanket, 5 Double Bed Quilts, 59 Single Bed Quilts, 112 Baby Blankets, 1130 Geometry Boxes, 200 Pencil Packs, 116 Erasers Packs, 9 Sharpener Packs, 20 Pencil Box, 10 Footers & 200 Notebooks.
The collected commodities during the activity are being distributed to NGO’s & Orphanages including We Might, an NGO working for J&K flood victims, Nishkaam Seva Ashram, Pakhowal Road, Jeevan Mukt Nishulk Vidyalaya, BRS Nagar & Mother Teresa Missionary, Jalandhar Bypass.
RAWAR carries on for three long grueling months and this is the fifth year that PCTE B-School is conducting it consecutively with its final year PGDM students (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) as a part of the Project Management Course. It is the first of the kind in the country, where the students are divided into teams. The teams work on projects to have hands on experience in branding, designing campaigns, working with financial services & product manufacturing, purchase, sell, negotiate, lead, team play, handle key situations, etc.
 “I learnt the importance of being socially responsible as a part of this activity. I now understand that for healthy society each one of us needs to contribute our best” said Navdeep Kaur, PGDM Student. Pankaj Jain, the Course Instructor passionately feels that the way PCTE carries out the course helps students display everything they learn in over a year in theory to apply it practically.
Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group Of Institutes said, “That such types of activities help students in developing their mental and analytical skills and also help them in relating to social environment. Such activities help them in having a better understanding of corporate role in developing rich society”. He elaborated that many of them have shown extreme enthusiasm for this exercise and have collaborated in this exercise. He said students have never been this enthusiastic about any other activity so far, and he is elated to see how practically applied courses flourish and help students learn some real meaningful lessons.
