RAWE students visited PAMETI and CIPHET
The visit was held under the guidance of Dr Kiranjot Sidhu, Head, Department of Extension Education and Communication Management
Ludhiana, March 25, 2022: A 48-students member delegation of Rural Awareness and Work Experience (RAWE) from College of Community Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), visited the Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) and Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET). The visit was held under the guidance of Dr Kiranjot Sidhu, Head, Department of Extension Education and Communication Management.
Accompanying the delegation, Dr. Ritu Mittal Gupta, Scientist and Dr. Mandeep Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, said the visit of B.Sc. final year RAWE students aimed at gaining knowledge about the institutes.
Dr. Harjeet Singh Dhaliwal, Director, Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) informed the students about organizational setup of the institute and different trainings organized for official from state departments. He further said that PAMETI has collaboration with national institutions and organizations for conducting these courses. Dr. Harmeet Kaur, Deputy Director (Business Management) highlighted the different training programmes, workshops and seminars organized at PAMATI.
During the next visit to Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET), Dr. Renu Balakrishnan, Scientist (Agricultural Extension) welcomed the students and explained the objectives of CIPHET. She further shed light on national and international level linkages of CIPHET with the various institutes. Students also visited the workshop and food processing unit of CIPHET.
