Relaxation of time limit for filing and depositing ESI contribution for month of Feb and Mar 2020 due to COVID-19 outbreak
Employees drawing wages up to Rs.21,000 a month are entitled to Medical Benefit and other cash benefits, under the ESI Act
Ludhiana: To give relief and support to the employers and employees dealing with Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) impact, the Director General, ESIC in exercise of powers vested under regulation 100, has relaxed the provisions as entered in regulation 26 & 31 of the Employees’ State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950. The provision of regulation 31 shall be read as 45 days instead of 15 days for the contribution payable for the month of February 2020 and March 2020 only.
Accordingly, the ESI Contribution for the month of February 2020 and March 2020 can be filed and paid up to April 15, 2020, and May 15, 2020, respectively instead of March 15, 2020, and April 15, 2020.
