Remo D’Souza Praises Shraddha Kapoor's Stellar Performance on 'Sun Saathiya' on India's Best Dancer vs Super Dancer: Champions Ka Tashan
Mumbai, January 8, 2025: Sony Entertainment Television’s homegrown format, India’s Best Dancer vs Super Dancer: Champions Ka Tashan, hosted by Haarsh Limbachiyaa, delivers thrilling dance showdowns every week. With Malaika Arora leading Team IBD and Geeta Kapur backing Team SD, the legendary Remo D’Souza heads the judges' panel as 12 exceptional dancers, guided by top choreographers, battle it out. The episode will also feature acclaimed actor Hina Khan, who came to promote her new drama webseries, Grihalakshmi, and the actor shared her inspiring journey of battling cancer, leaving the judges, contestants, and audience deeply moved.
Every week, Lord Remo presents thrilling challenges for the contestants. And this week, the episodes promise to deliver a vibrant celebration of Makar Sankranti wherein the challenges will be uniquely presented on colorful kites, bringing a fresh twist to the competition. One such challenge is the exciting 'Mera Waala Dance' challenge in which Remo, who has choreographed numerous songs, tasked the contestants to dance to one of his songs while incorporating their own unique style and magic. Malaika Arora sent Saumya & Shivanshu from Team India's Best Dancer while Geeta Kapur sent Vartika & Sanchit from Team Super Dancer to face-off in this round.
Vartika & Sanchit from Super Dancer performed on the song 'Sun Sathiya' from the movie 'ABCD 2', and an impressed Remo revealed that this is one of his favourite songs. He praised the duo by saying, “This is one of my favourite songs, and we shot this song in half a day. There were only 5 cuts, and I told Shraddha that for all these shots, we wouldn't go back or close, we would only be taking long shots. But hats off to Shraddha, for giving it her all. And today, Vartika and Sanchit brought a different feel to this song, and I really like it when there aren't any cuts because that's when you know how good a performer is. Some of India’s best dancers are sitting here, and when Vartika and Sanchit came together to perform on 'Sun Sathiya', I knew they'd do something after which I would forget my version of 'Sun Sathiya', and I actually forgot it. It was outstanding.”
Next, from Team India's Best Dancer, Saumya & Shivanshu performed on 'Ghar More Pardesiya' from the movie 'Kalank,' and Remo complimented their performance. He said, “This song is from the movie 'Kalank,' and I on the first 'Filmfare Award for this song. Before this, I had done so many other songs and had received other awards, but not this one. I got it from this song. When you are a choreographer, you dream about winning a Filmfare, and if that happens, that's it. When people hear my name, Remo D'Souza, they associate me with western styles of dance, but they don't think that I can do Indian. But I will give credit to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He was the one person who let me do Indian songs in his movie, and through which people got to know that I can do Indian songs well. I got to work in 'Kalank.' Today, what these contestants did with this song was outstanding.”
As the competition heats up, the question remains: Among both teams, who will rise to the occasion and secure another win?
