Rendezvous 2024: CDOE Alumni Meet Celebrates Achievements and Connections

Chandigarh, December 20, 2024: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Panjab University, Chandigarh, hosted its annual Alumni Meet 2024 in its auditorium. The event brought together alumni from diverse fields such as poetry, dance, singing, filmmaking, business, administration, and academia. 

It was a vibrant celebration of achievements and connections, attended by superannuated faculty members, current students, and distinguished guests. 

The Chief Guest, Preeti Sabharwal, an IAS officer and Deputy Commissioner of Kaithal, Haryana, emphasised the significance of discipline for success and commended the role of teachers in nurturing this quality. Sharing her inspiring journey, she encouraged students to strive for excellence. She had earned her master’s degree in Economics from CDOE in 2024.

Guest of Honour, Prof. R.K. Gupta, Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi, reflected on his transformation from a former CDOE faculty member to a successful Vice-Chanceller. 

Other notable guests included Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean of College Development Council; Prof. Latika Sharma, Dean of Alumni Relations; and Prof. Yojna Rawat, Director of the Research and Development Cell. They applauded the event as a bridge between generations. Prof. Harsh Gandhar, Director of CDOE, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the resilience and community-building values of CDOE students. Her visionary leadership and meticulous planning ensured the success of the event. 

The event also featured celebrated alumni such as film director Ojaswwee Sharma and Mr. Lokesh Sharma, Additional Director at O.P. Jindal University. Celebrity, Photographer and Astrologer, Dr.Maneeshwar Singh Kondal, an Engineer by profession, also graced the occasion and shared his illuminating experience with the audience. Former Chairpersons of CDOE and other eminent personalities also graced the occasion.The program included felicitation of young achievers, poetic recitations, musical performances, and inspiring speeches. The success of the event was attributed to the dedicated efforts of convenors Dr.Kamla, Dr.Parveen Kumar,Dr.Ravinder Kaur, Dr.Richa Sharma and PRO Dr.Purva Mishra, along with the non-teaching staff. Prof. Sheena Pall conducted the stage and Prof. SupreetKaur delivered the vote of thanks.
